How we combat Covid-19
CleanCo utilises Quat based sanitisers to combat the Covid pandemic, Quaternary ammonium compounds, or quats, are a class of disinfectants commonly used in cleaning and sanitising products and surfaces. They are cationic (positively charged) surfactants that exhibit antimicrobial properties. Quats are effective against a broad spectrum of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
The use of quats in combating COVID-19 typically involves the following steps:
- Surface Cleaning: Before applying a quat-based sanitiser, it’s essential too that we clean surfaces to remove dirt, debris, and organic matter. Cleaning helps improve the effectiveness of the sanitiser.
- Application of Quat-Based Sanitiser: Quat-based sanitisers are then applied to surfaces through spraying, wiping, or other appropriate methods. The concentration and contact time may vary depending on the specific product and the targeted microorganisms.
- Contact Time: The effectiveness of the quat-based sanitiser depends on the contact time, which is the duration the sanitiser needs to remain on the surface to kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms, our teams will apply the correct contact time based on the product in use.
- Rinsing (if required): Some quat-based sanitisers may require rinsing after the application, while others may be designed for no-rinse use.
